現在、日本の食料自給率は40%を割っており、先進諸国の中でも最下位です。この10年間で日本の耕地は30%減少したのに対し、大手の農業会社が管理する農場が240%増えました。有害な農薬や遺伝子操作されたタネの使用も広がり、このままでは日本の食の安全や多様性はますます脅かされていきます。
今回のゲスト「美土里（みどり）ファーム」は、京都から北へ50キロほどのところにある滋賀県山間部で農業を行う団体です。日本の食のシステムがより持続可能なものへと立ち戻ることを全体の目標に掲げ、農薬を使わない農業を実践しながら、地域やボランティアとの連携システムを構築しています。
よりよい農業モデルを生み出すための取り組み。このような活動を始めることになったきっかけや現在の課題、未来に託す想いなどをお話しいただきます。

Midori Farm ～ Toward the revitalization of farmlands and communities ～
Today, Japan's food self-sufficiency rate is below 40%, which is the lowest among developed countries. Japan's farms have declined by 30% over the past decade, while farms managed by major agricultural companies have increased by 240%. The use of harmful pesticides and genetically engineered seeds has also expanded, and the safety and diversity of food in Japan is becoming increasingly threatened.
Midori Farm is farming in mountainous areas of Shiga prefecture located about 50 kilometers north of Kyoto. With the overall goal of returning to a more sustainable food system in Japan, they are practicing agriculture that does not use pesticides or chemical fertilizers and establishing a cooperative system with communities and volunteers.
These are their efforts for creating a better agricultural model. Please listen to their story about why they started these activities, their current challenges, hopes for the future, and so on.
